These Bamun shields originate from fighting shields used by warriors and are hand-carved by the Bamun people of Cameroon from indigenous wood
These pots would have been used for a variety of tasks from cooking to storage
Their bowls are either incised with intricate patterns or simple but timeless carving details
such as milking cattle rather than ceremonial purposes
