ANDY WARHOL "CHER (PORTRAIT)" GELATIN SILVER PRINT, 1978From 1976 until his death in 1987, Andy Warhol was rarely without a camera. Photography was fundamental both to his artistic practice and his engagement with the world around him. Though long a devotee to Polaroids, Warhol acquired a 35mm camera in 1977 and proceeded to shoot, on average, at least a roll of film a day over the following decade.
